A union or labor union is an organization of workers who have banded together to achieve common goals such as protecting the integrity of its trade, achieving higher pay, increasing the number of employees an employer hires, and better working conditions.

The Unruh Civil Rights Act (UNRUH) prohibits unlawful discrimination based on sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin or disability by any business establishment, or discrimination based on the perception of any of the foregoing basis.
